Following on the heels from the critically acclaimed TV series, Friday Night Lights, Jason Katims approached Ron Howard and also Brian Grazer with the idea of creating an updated, modern adaptation of your 1989 film and getting it to television. On October 9, 2009, it was reported which Lauren Graham would replace Tierney within the upcoming series. Helen Hunt had been recently approached, but she and NBC could not come to a financial deal. [8] The premiere time was then set with regard to March 1, 2010 at 9: 00 p. m. but was moved again towards the following day at 10: 00 p. m. after the The Jay Leno Show was terminated.

Parenthood’s pilot episode had been filmed in Northern Colorado, using local crews, while the rest of the series may be filmed in Los Angeles.
